ALPHABET GAMES & RESOURCES:
Resources for teaching the alphabet. Simply laminate, cut out and have fun! EACH RESOURCE IS ALSO PROVIDED IN BLACK AND WHITE, TO SAVE ON PRINTING COSTS

Included for each of the letters are:

2 sets of letter cards and a page of ideas for games/activities.

2 sets of letter fans (make fans up using groups of letters. Laminate, cut out and fasten using a split pin or treasury tag)

Letter craft pages to decorate using paint, pens, sequins, etc. These pages could also be laminated and children could make the letters using dough.

Also included are games containing all 26 letters:

I Spy game (search for and read tiny letters using a magnifying glass)

Roll and Read game (roll the die and read the letters in the matching row)

Alphabet board game – make your way around the board, saying the letters as you go! Watch out for the dinosaurs!

Match magnetic letters to lower case letter chart

Match magnetic letters to upper case letter chart

Letter Race game – 4 player game: laminate & cut out the boards. Take turns to roll the die & say the letter you land on. Who will reach the end first?

VC BLENDING ACTIVITY:
Teach your class to read vowel-consonant words with this fun pack!

Children should say the sounds as they drive their car past the trees and then blend them together to read the word.

Road mats with the following words are provided (one word per mat):

it, in, is, if

an, am, at, as

up, us

on, of

Each word is also written on a car flashcard (colour copy and B&W copy). These could be used for assessment purposes or children could match them to the correct road mats.
