Hi! Here is a PowerPoint that I have used with both Year 9 and Year 10 Fashion and Textile students. It includes a step by step guide that can be either printed or displayed on the board to show students how to create a simple block repeat pattern as well a half drop pattern (I have also included how to remove the background from a secondary image)
