Fun activity for GCSE students studying physics as part of a combined syllabus or separate sciences. This activity comprises of a powerpoint containing formulas to be learned. Each formula slide has a formula triangle, word equation and symbol equation which are covered. Students can be asked to write their answers down before revealing the correct answers or students can be asked to share their answers by use of the ‘Ask Me’ button. The ‘Ask Me’ button makes use of a grid which can be populated with student names to allow students to choose each other and allows everyone opportunity to participate.
The presentation makes use of a macro which presents the formula slides in a random order. This ensures students are understanding the formulas rather than learning specific answers as well as increasing student engagement and information retention.

Content/macros need to be enabled in powerpoint for the presentation to work. The use of macros means that the presentation should always be started from the first slide, and slides and navigation buttons cannot be added or deleted, however the ‘Ask Me’ grid is editable to include student names, and the content of the formula slides may also be changed. The red cross in the corner may be clicked at any point to exit the presentation. To reset the macros, powerpoint should be closed and the file reopened. If you are saving the file under a different name, ensure it is saved as a macro-enabled presentation.
