Simplified lesson introducing Plato's concept of The Cave. This is a lesson that promotes questioning, reflection and group discussion and is a nice starter lesson to developing philosophical thinking.

On one slide it states that, "The Cave is often used as a metaphor for religious enlightenment" This is absolutely false. The Cave deals with perception and knowledge. If anything, it's the abandonment of unproven or misleading ideas like religion.
