A differentiated proverb sorting activity with answers.

A proverb is a simple, traditional saying that shares advice, wisdom or a truth. Proverbs are often used in informal writing and speech. Proverbs use figurative language, making them difficult to understand.

Help pupils become more familiar with and comprehend a range of English proverbs with this differentiated sorting activity. Once acquainted with the proverbs and their meanings, pupils can identify and understand them when reading, and also use them in their writing; for example, when writing dialogue in a story, a diary entry or an informal letter.
