Hi,

This lesson is based around the basic understanding of ratio. I have broken this lesson down into 3 stages; simplifying ratios, sharing ratios and problem solving questions of ratios. There is a good range of differentiation and scaffolding which will cater towards middle to high ability students. I have used a range of AfL to check understanding and cover misconceptions. The last learning objective gives students the chance to work independently and use their prior or current knowledge to work out the questions stated.
The main activities can be displayed on the board for the students to copy into their books as they show their working out. In addition to this, most slides have answers and worked solutions.

I have attached two starters to this lesson so that basic skills can be addressed before the lesson starts. This lesson will take 2 lessons for a middle/top ability group. Please read the above before purchasing.

The learning objectives covered are:
- Students must understand how to simplify ratios in a given form.
- Identify how to share ratios in a given amount
- Apply knowledge of problem solving and reasoning to ratio questions.

Enjoy!
