Recipe Model Text, Activities and Planning Pack

A model recipe text for chocolate rice crispy cakes, with accompanying sentence structure activity, feature find worksheet and differentiated planning templates.

Pupils read the WAGOLL recipe instructions, examine the features of the text, complete a sentence structure activity independently or in pairs, and then plan their own recipe text using the templates.

The model recipe is for a dish that can easily be made in the classroom so that pupils can experience following the instructions before examining the text and writing their own version.

Features of the text include imperative verbs, expanded noun phrases, prepositional phrases, adverbials and plural possessive apostrophes, making this an ideal resource pack for years 3 and 4.
