The Remembrance Assembly: Why We Wear Poppies
Why do we wear poppies? A calm, respectful whole-school assembly that tells the story of the poppy — from John McCrae’s In Flanders Fields to the Poppy Appeal — and who we remember, including Commonwealth service and the animals of the world wars. It ends with a practised silence, Lest We Forget, and an optional reflection or prayer suitable for faith and non-faith settings.

- Suggested discussion questions for during the assembly and follow-up in class.
- An optional closing reflection.
