I designed these projects for our KS3 Design and Technology groups in order to provide the students with work they could do at home with minimal need for teacher input, materials or equipment. Each project also ramps up in terms of introducing students to working within the parameters of a context as well. We use AQA for Food and DT GCSE and these projects link to these specifications in particular.

At my school we do rotations of STEM, Product Design, Food and Textiles which these are designed for. They could be easily adapted to suit your DT areas.

The tasks are broken down into INVESTIGATE, DESIGN, MAKE and EVALUATE tasks.

This is an outline of the projects:

Year 7 - students are investigating, designing and making products for British Airways who are planning to start a (fictious) airline that will travel into space.

Year 8 - students are investigating, designing and making products around the context of festivals. There are a range possible outcomes for each area.

Year 9 -students are investigating, designing and making products around the context of sustainable lifestyles. There are a range possible outcomes for each area.

NOTE:
The files you will receive are Publisher and PDF documents. I use slightly unusual fonts so your program may not recognise them. Apologies for that but hopefully you will format in your own style.
