A straightforward slide deck in PowerPoint format that is meant to be used over multiple lessons to deal with the new Global Politics syllabus and its requirement of in-depth studies on various Global Political Challenges. This slide deck is built with the assumption you have a combined SL/HL class wherein you only see your HL students once a week or something similar.
The slide deck includes students working in small groups to research or brainstorm information, as well as a discussion on the concept of borders and the different types of them. The main activity is a simulation of an expert panel discussion that might be seen on television. This is followed by a reflection discussion and a written task.
An an extension task, there is a ToK style prompt that could be used to build understanding of the connections between Global Politics and ToK.
All handouts/readings are linked in the slide deck and can be downloaded for no additional charge. The slide deck is completely editable should you choose/need to do so.
