A festive, story-driven escape room where students help Santa save Christmas through four interactive language puzzles.

This immersive adventure blends meaningful language learning with cinematic flow. Across beautifully illustrated scenes – a snowy village, Santa’s workshop, a warm fireside room – learners follow clues to recover the lost list of well-behaved children. They decode messages, answer quick comprehension checks, and combine code fragments to open Santa’s treasure chest.

Designed for KS3 French (Years 7–9), it’s ideal for the final week of term – engaging, collaborative, academically grounded, and completely ready to use.

What’s included

  • Fully interactive digital escape room (link provided)
  • Printable cipher key to support decoding (meant to be printed – students will decode more effectively up close)
  • Optional Lutin du Père Noël certificate for successful teams
  • Typical run time: 40–55 minutes
  • Available via QR code or link – works as a whole-class experience, but students gain the most when working in pairs or individually on computers for full immersion (sound, visuals, storyline)
  • Print-outs available in PDF and editable versions

This activity captures the wonder of Christmas while keeping language learning purposeful and rich.
It’s festive fun with genuine linguistic depth – an unforgettable way to end the term.
Tip: A brief preview run can help you anticipate moments where students may accelerate or pause – useful for classroom pacing.

I had a lot of fun creating it – I hope you and your students do too.
