AQA A-Level Biology Paper 3 Essay Modelling and Improvement Tasks is designed to model the structure expected in the paper 3 essay but also emphasise the importance of using A-level depth in recall and discussion to take marks beyond the multistructural band. Students also have the opportunity to develop their metacognition by spotting factual errors that are easily made.
3 Sample essays are provided which fall in the multistructural band to model the average essay and enable students to elevate their work to higher bands. Students work through the scaffolded to do tasks on each sample essay to highlight why it did not gain higher marks and then suggest improvements in A-level terminology and discussion.
One sample is completed to provide as a model.
