Roll it, Recap: Fractions

• Roll it, Recap is a great formative assessment tool to use in the classroom.

• I typically use these at the end of a chapter before giving a chapter test as it allows me to quickly assess students understanding of a topic in a non formal setting.

• Students enjoy working in pairs/small groups, and the group work aspect of the activity encourages reflection and discussion among-st them.

This worksheet requires students to be able to:

1. Solve fractions using an LCM.

2. Simplify fractions by grouping/factorising.

3. Evaluate expressions by subbing in particular values of x.

4. Write expressions as single fractions.

I print these sheets off and laminate them so they last from year to year. You could also upload digitally if students have ipads. You will need a packet of die to play the game.
