Two sets of picture cards for children to cut out and stick into books.

Higher ability: round country populations (lowest number: 38,695; highest number: 209,288,278)
Lower ability: round UK city populations (lowest number: 40,302; highest number: 466,415)

Differentiated activities to practise:

• putting numbers in order of size
• rounding to the nearest 10, 100, 1000 etc
• writing numbers in words
