In a three part philosophy unit I have written and designed, comes the first unit answering the question: Is there a life after death?
There are 8 lessons in total. The school I was working for at the time focused a great deal on literacy so this is a theme throughout all lessons with extended reading and writing. There is a good basis for discussion questions for students. It would also be a scheme suitable for KS2, I found taught this for three years now and find students really love discussing ultimate questions - particularly if there is evidence for the afterlife.

Within this scheme students are required to discuss what they think a soul is and where it may be within us. There is also a mention f Dualism, wit resources of Ancient Egyptian belief in life after death to aid students understanding of this. Its a pretty cool, different religious view point for students to have a look at.

The 8th lesson requires a good knowledge of Harry Potter and is for a bit of fun, it isn't necessary in the overall SOW. It focuses on the philosophy of mind: dualism theme advocated throughout the story of Harry Potter by the discussion of the soul and ghosts.
