Sequences – Arithmetic, Geometric, and Special Sequences (Year 7)

This engaging Year 7 lesson introduces students to different types of sequences in a fun and memorable way. Designed to be used alongside White Rose Maths worksheets (Lessons 1 + 2), the PowerPoint brings the topic to life with real-world and historical connections.

Students will:

1. Explore arithmetic sequences (adding the same amount each time) and geometric sequences (multiplying by the same amount each time).
2. Investigate famous examples such as the rice and chessboard legend and pyramid schemes to see how quickly geometric sequences grow.
3. Discover the beauty of Fibonacci numbers in nature.
4. Work with triangular and square numbers using provided triangular and square grid paper, linking to patterns and visual representations.
