This lesson contains whole class, individual and paired work. It includes a Powerpoint for whole class teaching and an individual task, as well as some flashcards or task cards for paired work. There is also some guidance for teachers on the notes section of the powerpoint.
The lesson begins with the teacher explaining the different types of numbers, students then sort numbers into different sets as a whole class. After this student sort some numbers on their own and quiz each other on the number type of different numbers using task cards (the last two tasks can be done in any order).
I estimate this lesson would take around 30 minutes.
This lesson is aimed at CXC, 4th or 5th form students (equivalent t to year 10 and 11 GCSE) but can be used to teach any students about set of numbers.
