This lesson is designed to last for 50-60 minutes and is resourced with videos, extension questioning, deep thinking and uses graphs/images to aid learning.
This lesson follows the Oxford KS3 curriculum and looks at what a settlement actually is and different images of them so students can realise they can look very different to each other. Students will look at different factors for choosing a settlement such as terrain, resources, water availability and more before moving on to creating their own storyboard/comic strip about settling with real student examples provided.
This lesson includes a starter, lesson objective, plenary and various student led activities.
