This is a scheme of learning which focuses on the theme of social justice across several extracts from different Shakespeare plays including Othello, King Lear, Macbeth and many more.

The scheme prompts students to explore different social justice issues in the extracts from Shakespeare’s plays and to analyse the language used to present these social issues. The scheme then makes wider links to non-fiction articles and other pieces of fiction.

For example, after exploring poverty in King Lear, students then move on to read Marcus Rashford’s letter to MPs about free school meals.

This scheme has a booklet with it which includes all of the extracts and space for students to complete the tasks.

This is designed to run over a half term.
