Social Emotional Learning Check In Sheets

Included:

  1. Emotions and feelings sheet - students select any of the 24 different feelings by circling them. The feelings are represented by child friendly images to encourage engagement. They can then rate the feeling 1 to 5 depending on the intensity of the feeling.

  2. Emotional reasoning sheet - students select any of the 20 different reasons for their feelings by circling them. The reasoning is broad with a box at the bottom for students to add additional reasons or elaborate. They can then rate the reason 1 to 5 depending on how much this reason is affecting their feelings and emotions.

This resource is a great quick check in tool, which supports children in describing their feelings in a simple and accessible manner. It is helpful for students who struggle expressing themselves verbally and are often not confident in talking about their feelings. I use this resource on a weekly basis, students become familiar with the check in and more confident in filling it out and communicating their emotions. Ideal to be printed and laminated, so it can be used repeatedly too.

Ideal for a wide range of ages.

Resources are in American English.
