This product includes: project instructions, list of companies to research, rubric for grading the project, and reflection questions. In this project students will research the concept of social responsibility and ethics as important components of a business, develop a hypothesis for why businesses must increasingly consider their impact on society when making decisions, and summarize observations; specifically, evaluate how businesses benefit from engaging in responsible business practices, including benefits to the community, the environment, the marketplace, and the business/workplace itself.

Students select a company from the list provided (all companies have made some sort of “ethical mistake” in the past). Students then work with a partner to research that company and their social responsibility initiatives. To promote personalized learning students may choose which product they would like to create: PowerPoint Presentation, Infographic, or Flow Chart. Students will present their products to the class. Reflection questions are included for students to reflect on what they learned through the presentations.

Daily Objectives:
 Define social responsibility.
 Analyze the social responsibility actions of a corporation.
