The lessons revolve around the colour work of David Hockney and the subject work of Peter Thorpe. The children reflect on their work in terms of the formal elements, experimenting and reflecting in their sketchbooks and then apply their learning to create their own final piece. There is also the option to transform their art into digital art at the end, a real crowd-pleasure!
I have completed this project with KS2 but it can be easily differentiated for KS1.
