Still Image and Devising | Year 8 Drama PowerPoint Lesson

This lesson teaches still image as a deliberate technique, with levels, proxemics, gesture and facial expression used to show status and relationships. It is a ready-to-teach PowerPoint scaffold for an hour-long lesson on devising from a stimulus. Thought-tracking is taught with clear rules, subtext is explained through a worked example of one line delivered three ways, and a short original stimulus text is supplied so no set text is needed. Two interactive tasks are included: building one image three ways to isolate the effect of levels and proxemics, and devising and performing a three-image piece with rehearsed transitions and narration.
