5 story boards to spark children’s imaginations and creative writing at KS1. Children can work alone or in pairs / small gourps. Or work in guided groups with an adult to support/scribe.
Encourage speaking and listening and sharing ideas before children put pencil to paper.

Each board contains pictures and words beginning with a vowel - a,e,i,o and u.

The object of the activity is for children to use all the words to create a story.
Some examples of story openers are:
The ox and the octopus came over to see the old man…
The unicorn was underwater when…
Inside the igloo the insects ate ice cream…

Children can illustrate their pictures and share their stories in group / circle time.

There is a blank template for you to create more story boards using other letters of the alphabet.
