This task allows students to practice the skill of subtracting mixed numbers, in an engaging real life context!
Students will use Sustainable Development Goal 4 (SDG4) data to identify various comparisons in schooling hours across different cities by subtracting mixed numbers, ranging in complexity with same / different denominators, before making a conclusive statement based on their understanding of what the data represents.
This activity also comes with 3 additional challenges to provoke higher order reasoning and develop mathematical thinking.
