This Unit of work is a project designing and making a sweet dispenser.
The project has the following resources (9 files):

Lessons Powerpoint (16 slides) which includes lesson objectives, assessment objectives and examples
Design specification worksheet
Examples of sweet dispensers
Types of sweet dispensers
Ergonomics and Anthropmetrics worksheets
Machinery handouts for hand router, morticer, lathe and pillar drill
Detailed explanation of how to make 4 different types of sweet dispenser - *waterfall, downfall, jar and shaped
Cutting list and final idea worksheet
A homework sheet with 3 homeworks that compliment the project designing another product that can dispense.

I ran this project with year 9s and used it as a way to improve more technical machine skills and I ran demonstrations on the router, lathe, pillar drill and morticer.

The four different types of sweet dispenser* I have shown how to make have varying levels of skill which allows for easy differentiation. It is also a project that allows students to develop their independent working skills.
