T Level DSD Year 2 Section 4.3 teaching pack with 3 editable PowerPoints, 102 slides, a clickable prototype and an interactive UI/UX website.

Teach students how to turn a software brief into a design they can explain, justify and prototype. The pack uses familiar examples, worked diagrams and practical activities to show how each design choice affects the finished product.

4.3_1 | UI, UX and Branding · 29 slides
Explore consistency, information and visual hierarchy, confirmation, user control and accessibility. Use familiar brand examples to discuss how colour and layout shape the user experience. The PowerPoint covers wireframes and style guides and includes a clickable prototype demo inside the presentation so students can explore a user journey in class.

4.3_2 | CMS, Program Design, Assets and Platforms · 43 slides
Introduce CMS features, then show how developers plan program logic using flowcharts, pseudocode, control structures and validation. Students also practise justifying their choice of images, audio, video and code for a prototype, considering file formats, compression, quality, bandwidth and the target platform. Includes responsible use of AI when creating assets.

4.3_3 | Databases and Network Integration · 30 slides
Build data dictionaries and entity relationship diagrams, then work through a sample dataset from unnormalised data to third normal form. Students explore what runs on the device, what runs on the server and how an external API fits into a system. A CampusLive booking challenge brings these concepts together, with worked answers and teacher notes.

Also included: a separate interactive UI/UX website
Open the supplied HTML file in a browser to compare a deliberately poor design with an improved version of the same page. Students can switch between the two designs, identify what changed and explain how those changes make the page easier to use.

Designed for T Level Digital Software Development Year 2, Occupational Specialism Section 4.3. Teach the three parts in sequence or use individual presentations to revisit a topic before students produce their own prototypes and system designs.
