Activity requiring students to research an invention that has enabled scientists to make better observations and subsequently advance scientific knowledge.
Students are required to address the following:
* Describe the invention.
* When was it first invented?
* Who was/were the key scientist(s) in its invention?
* How did it contribute to scientific discovery?
* How has it been improved since it was first invented? How do modern versions compare to the earliest versions?
Also includes a Unit Outline for the topic "The Scientific Method".
Designed for the Australian National Curriculum: Year 7 Science. However, it would be useful for other junior science curriculums as well.
