This is a reading comprehension based in the Earthquake in Haiti taken from a newspaper article. I have shortened the article to make it more achieveable in one or two classes. I use the photos to stimulate discussion before and to elecit key vocabulary. After we have had a chat about what they already know I get students to do some dictionary work with the difficult vocabulary. Then I let them away to answer the questions. The follow up question can be changed to suit the verb tense you are dealing with in class.
