The Art of Mathematics - William Morris
The Art of Mathematics looks at a variety of artists and styles of art. For each artist we give a brief history of their life, links to examples of their work and ideas for mathematical activities to go with specific works. This article looks at the work of William Morris who is best known for his repeating patterned fabric and wallpaper designs. Classroom activities for KS2 ask pupils to discuss whether they can see anything mathematical from the ‘image of tiles’.
