This 35-slide PowerPoint presentation was originally used in a university classroom. It has been expanded to take the guesswork out of teaching the logical problem of evil. This presentation highlights the logical nature of the problem, which religions face this issue based upon their conception of God, and why the following three propositions are considered incompatible: (1) God is omnipotent (all-powerful), (2) God is wholly good, and (3) Evil exists. This presentation explains “theodicy” and briefly discusses a few examples toward the end (Free Will Defense, Soul-Making Argument, Pain is a Megaphone).

The following thinkers are mentioned: J.L. Mackie, Peter Inwagen, Gottfried Leibniz, C.S. Lewis, and John Hick.
