The United States City Challenge

This presentation follows the same format as similar presentations on British Cities, African Nations and European Cities.Presentation used in a number of ways in KS3/4 Geography. 20 significant American Cities are used as a springboard for a range of geographical skills including location awareness, use of co-ordinates and discussions about national identities. The presentation has also been used to provide meaningful cover activities and used to promote research skills. The whole presentation contains 45 slides covering 20 different challenges, Navigation throughout the presentation is facilitated b embedded hyper links throughout. All challenges follow the same format in that a specific city is named and the student are directed (use of Atlas at the teachers discretion) to locate the cities position. The presentation can be used as a teacher directed activity or can be used interactively on a white board.
