This is an Understanding the World lesson around the book ‘Three Little Pigs.’ We start the lesson by reading the book to the children and then we go on to talk about the different materials used in the story.
We show children the materials of straw, sticks and bricks and watch a video of a house being made of bricks. Children then complete an activity where they try and find out which of the materials are strong by blowing on them like the Big Bad Wolf.
There are lots of lovely enhancements and ideas for further learning with this topic.
