This is a GCSE lesson on top down and bottom up development strategies. Key facts about the lesson are:

1. The lesson explores the differences between top down and bottom up development projects.
2. The lesson analyses the pros and cons of top down and bottom up approaches to development.
3. The lesson uses two different case studies to develop students understanding of top down and bottom up approaches; High Speed 2 and Sparc India.
4. The lesson is based on the new GCSE specifications. It can be adapted for A-level studies as well.
5. The lesson is designed to challenge students analytical skills and provide them with an opportunity to use evidence in their explanation and writing. However, there are still differentiated activities for students who need this support.
6. It's a complete lesson with all the resources you need to deliver it – the learning activities from starter to plenary as well as the case studies resources (minus images). All you will need is the ppt which I've attached. Just teach!
