Transport Through The Ages (6 of 14)
Session 6
PowerPoint to Support Lesson - Mission to Mars

Resources:
Mission to Mars Activity Card
PowerPoint to lead session with research QR Codes

Main Task 1: Children to watch a video showing the first moon landing in 1969 and use the discussion questions to have a class conversation about what the landings meant for humanity. Some children may wish to discuss the conspiracy theories around the Moon Landings as well.
Main Task 2: The main task involves the children watching some videos about the possibility of humans moving to Mars. Discussion should revolve around what jobs we would need people to do on Mars when we initially got there. The main task will require the children to create their own posters advertising a position on Mars. There are some great posters on the NASA website for inspiration.

All resource packs include PowerPoints to support the teaching of the lesson as well as resources to support the learning.
Please look out for the other 13 sessions in the pack, or alternatively purchase the whole package of 14 sessions for £9.99 (coming December 2021)
