This resource provides a clear and well-structured introduction to UAE National Identity for Year 7 / Grade 6 students. It deepens pupils’ understanding of leadership, geography, history, heritage, sustainability, and the country’s modern achievements. The pack has been used successfully to help a school achieve full marks in the ADEK National Identity inspection. Other year-group packs are available, and each one builds on knowledge from the previous year to create a full learning progression from primary into secondary.
Students explore the biographies and roles of Sheikh Zayed, the current President, the Crown Prince, and the rulers of all seven emirates. Geography content includes terrain types, mountains, oases, coastal environments, population, area, latitude and longitude, and the origin of each emirate’s name.
The unit also covers key historical topics such as the Portuguese arrival, the Trucial States, Zayed the Great, early tribal life, and the 1971 unification process, with students using the “Six Steps to Unity” to understand how the UAE was formed. Heritage learning includes pearl diving, falconry, UNESCO protection, and ancient Arabian civilisations.
Modern achievements are highlighted through UAE sustainability projects, Net Zero 2050, mangroves, Masdar City, and the UAE’s expanding space programme, including Hazza Al Mansoori, Sultan Al Neyadi, KhalifaSat, and the Hope Probe.
Activities include mapping, close tasks, diary writing, heritage analysis, and diagram labelling, supporting strong engagement and knowledge retention.
