This resource provides a clear and comprehensive National Identity unit for Year 8 / Grade 7 students. It deepens their understanding of UAE leadership, geography, history, heritage, sustainability, international relations, and modern achievements. The pack has been used successfully to help a school achieve full marks in the ADEK National Identity inspection. Additional year-group packs are available, and each year builds on content introduced in the previous level, supporting a full learning progression from primary to secondary.
Students study UAE leadership, including Sheikh Zayed, Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed, Sheikh Khalid bin Mohammed, and the rulers of all seven emirates. Geography content includes population, area, latitude and longitude, terrain types, mountains, oases, and the origins of each emirate’s name.
Historical content covers the Portuguese arrival, the Trucial States, Zayed the Great, tribal life, and the detailed steps to the 1971 unification. Heritage topics include pearl diving, falconry, UNESCO protection, traditional crafts, and ancient Arabian civilisations.
The resource also explores modern themes such as the Net Zero 2050 plan, Masdar City, mangrove conservation, and UAE global partnerships with the UK, France, and USA. Students investigate major space achievements including Hazza Al Mansoori, Sultan Al Neyadi, KhalifaSat, Hope Probe, and the Rashid Rover.
Activities include mapping, close tasks, creative writing, research projects, heritage analysis, and diagram labelling, supporting engagement, understanding, and strong NI attainment.
