This lesson is designed to teach students about the key features of a population pyramid, how to draw one and how to interpret them using key terms such a birth rate, death rate and life expectancy. The resources are differentiated into three levels of difficulty with extension tasks. There is a detailed peer assessment sheet and opportunities for discussion. I used this lesson with a mixed ability year 9 class. A brief lesson plan is included to help you to understand the structure of the lesson.
