Show students the headline + picture to discover what the text is about - then the article is broken down in paragraphs and students have to find the relevant vocabulary and write in the grid to get a full understanding of the text. Each part of the grid relates to a line in the paragraph.
This is a technique learnt on Martine Pillette’s excellent course.
