A full unit of work combining art with history, in particular Van Gogh and World War II. The project looks at emotional turmoil in art and life. Van Gogh and Edith Birkin are the two artists studied and compared. The final outcome is a painted cut-out in the style of Van Gogh/Birkin and also a painted Faberge style egg using either a balloon with modroc or a polymer egg. Students look at decadence in art and poverty in Brazil and how the two can be brought together. This can be 7 or 14 lessons.
