I have written a set of unofficial exam papers for the Research Methods section of the exams. This is the 8th set.

The stimulus for this one a correlational study investigating the relationship between age and the accuracy of eye-witness testimony. This is the same stimulus as the 7th set, but with different questions.

There are 24 marks as per the real exam and students should be allocated 30 minutes to complete it.

The comprehensive mark scheme allows for easy marking and peer marking.

This paper tests:

  • Direction of hypotheses
  • Hypothesis writing
  • Strength & Limitation of a Volunteer Sample
  • Ethical issues
  • Dealing with ethical issues
  • Controlling for investigator bias
  • Mathematical symbol > (greater than)
  • Identification of direction of correlation from a table of results
  • Calculation of the range
  • The purpose of peer review
  • The limitation of peer review

I usually use narrow margins, so if the formatting is out, then change the margins to narrow. If you have any questions or concerns, please get in touch with me on this website, or on twitter @blonde_pretzel or YouTube: Psychology Students
