Teach exact trigonometric values with a print-free Year 10 maths lesson that combines recall, reasoning and application. This editable Beyond Printables PowerPoint follows an I Do, We Do, You Do sequence, with differentiated tasks, regular assessment for learning and explicit work on misconceptions. Pupils can respond in exercise books or on mini-whiteboards, without printed worksheets.

EXACT VALUES AND SPECIAL TRIANGLES
A two-way reference table displays sine, cosine and tangent at 0°, 30°, 45°, 60° and 90°, including why tan 90° is undefined. A derivation task uses an equilateral triangle and a 45°–45°–90° triangle. Pupils apply Pythagoras, identify the relevant side lengths and build the exact ratios themselves. The following answer page supports discussion of where the values come from. Fractions are stacked and surds remain exact.

I DO, WE DO, YOU DO
Six retrieval questions and six prerequisite checks come with grouped answers. Teaching examples lead into a six-panel modelling page, pairing questions 1 and 4, 2 and 5, and 3 and 6. The progression moves from recalling a value to finding an exact length and identifying an acute angle from a ratio. Space for live working lets you model each decision before pupils attempt the matched example.

AFL AND MISCONCEPTIONS
Twenty individual AFL questions each have a following solution slide. Questions distinguish sine from cosine, connect exact values with side lengths and challenge the claim that tan 90° equals 1. Greater Depth work asks pupils to justify answers rather than rely on a calculator. Exact-length solutions include simplified surds.

TWO WAYS TO PRESENT PRACTICE
The existing 18-question minimally different sequence remains, with its answer slides. An additional one-page, 12-question option brings exact-value recall, a sequence of side-length calculations and finding acute angles together. A shared diagram reduces repetition and keeps the questions readable. Its answers follow on a separate slide.

DIFFERENTIATION ON ONE SCREEN
Keep the original Developing, Secure and Greater Depth tasks, with eight, eight and five questions respectively, plus the Super Challenge. Alternatively, use the compact whole-class page containing all four levels. This reduced task set includes a shared triangle, exact lengths, reasoning about undefined tangent and an exact-area challenge. Three answer pages follow. The separate task versions remain available for fuller practice.

The Super Challenge asks pupils to find an exact area and explain why exchanging the acute angles preserves it. An exit question provides a final check. The 82-slide lesson is designed for non-calculator work and supports Year 10 teaching, GCSE revision or targeted intervention. The TES pack includes the editable PowerPoint, a combined title and description file, and a premium 4:3 thumbnail.
