This is a fun paper aeroplane activity I designed for my students to capture their reflections on valentines day but with a geographical twist. It serves as a reflection activity on what they have LOVED studying this year and also touches on connectedness and the importance of place. There are spaces on the wings to contemplate the following:

  • What top 3 places in the world have a special connection to you?
  • What things have you LOVED learning in geography so far?
  • What are you most proud of this year?
  • You make my world bigger…who are your positive influences.

By the end of this activity, students will be able to:

  • Reflect on their personal learning journey in geography.
  • Identify places that are meaningful to them and explain why.
  • Describe key geographical topics they have enjoyed studying.
  • Recognise positive influences that have shaped their understanding of the world.
  • Develop a sense of place, identity, and geographical connectedness.
  • Communicate ideas creatively using written reflection.

Suitable for mixed ability classes and adaptable across KS2–KS3.

There’s also more room to customise the back of the plane with learnings which are specific to your students.

It’s a nice light and fun activity. Enjoy!!
