A set of three lessons following ‘Ville de rêve ou ville de cauchemar?’ Studio GCSE Higher Module 4.2. Students are reminded of il y a/ il n’y a pas and other basic negative expressions at the start of the lessons then go on to be introduced to some more advanced negatives. Students practice their skills through a range of activities from the book enhanced with support and challenge activities as well as additional slides to explain the grammar, additional exercises to practice using negatives, differentiated translations in to English and stepped translations in to French. A timed game is also used to consolidate student knowledge. The lessons conclude with a role play task with student friendly criteria and an extended writing task with success criteria to facilitate self/peer assessment.
