Visual Literacy: Analyzing Paintings

This is a 1 to 2 lesson visual literacy resource with the following:

• a lesson plan
• a Powerpoint
• practical worksheets.

It could be used for high school students through to adult. It’s intended for a general audience, not an art class, to develop their understanding of what visual literacy is and how they could apply that to describing paintings. I’ve kept the Powerpoint quite basic, but it depends on how deeply your students would like to dive into the topic. The images used in the worksheets for analysis are all in the public domain so free to use. I hope you find it useful.
