Daily well-being check in for whole class. Focus on emotions, well-being and build relationships with all children. Useful to support safeguarding as children can indicate when they would like to talk.
To use, print of each child’s name, laminate and use tac to attach to the poster. Children can then move themselves each morning to show how they are feeling. If a child shows that they are feeling below a 3, this is an indication that they maybe want someone to talk to. When first introducing this to your class, model how to use it and explain that someone will always be there to talk if they are not feeling so great.
Examples of how to use when talking to children:
“Wow! You’re a 5 today - what’s feeling so good about today?”
“I see you’re a 2 today - do you want to find some time to have a chat and see if I can help?”
“Great to see your feeling ok today as your check in is at a 3.”
