Aimed at Y7 to Y8 pupils though the story in lesson 2 can be simplified for Y5 to Y6. Lesson 2 aims to give pupils an understanding of the story and themes behind the festival whilst lesson 3 aims to show how the festival is celebrated today in the UK. It allows them to compare both the theme and methods of celebration to other festivals and find common themes. All activities are differentiated. Plenty of self and peer assessment. Plenty of green pen reflection opportunities. Pupils can choose tasks to meet their learning needs. PPT slides all have teaching notes with levelled questions in the notes section.
