This is a two lesson resources that focuses on the development of locational skills at a global and regional scale.

Lesson 1: Where is the UK?

• Using tourist attractions to develop knowledge of continents, oceans, hemispheres, latitudes and countries.
• Applying these skills to questions and formative assessment

Lesson 2: Where are we in the UK?

• Using counties, cities, national parks, roads, and countries to describe the location within the UK
• Quizzes and extended questions to assess their knowledge

Both lessons contain extensive differentiation, visual detailed resources, and opportunities for formative assessment. The second lesson is based on locating Newton Aycliffe, but this can easily be changed for your location.
