Why is RE Important? – RE Worksheet Bundle

A simple and engaging resource to help children explore why Religious Education is important and how it can help us understand different beliefs, values and ideas.

This resource is suitable for EYFS through to Year 6 and can be adapted easily for different ages and abilities.

The bundle includes:

• A blank pupil worksheet for children to record their own ideas.
• A worked example to introduce the activity and support discussion.
• Six example ideas about why RE is important, including understanding different religions and beliefs, thinking about big questions, developing values, showing respect, reflecting on our own lives and building a sense of community.

For younger children, the worksheet can be discussed as a class and completed together, or teachers can scribe children’s ideas before adding the finished work to a floor book.

Older children can complete the activity more independently, using the worked example to support their own ideas.

A flexible resource that can be used as a lesson starter, class discussion, independent activity or as evidence in an RE floor book.
