Are you looking for a fun activity to encourage pupils to choose a language at GCSE? If so, give this engaging scavenger hunt a try! Ideal for use with your French, German, Spanish and other Modern Languages / International Languages classes.
The scavenger hunt consists of ten texts on the benefits of learning languages. Simply print them out and stick them up around the room. Pupils must read the texts and answer the questions. The answers to the questions are found on a different card. Pupils fill in the answers (the code words) on an answer grid. When complete, they must unscramble the letters in the shaded squares on the grid to find the mystery word.
Pupils can work individually, in pairs or small groups, depending on the size of your class and the room you have available. The activity can be timed or pupils can compete against each other to be the first to finish, while learning why languages are a great choice at GCSE.
